What converting JPG to PNG does
Converting JPG to PNG does not restore quality already lost. Because PNG is lossless, however, repeated editing and saving no longer accumulates further loss.
It is also used when a system only accepts PNG, or as a step before adding transparency in an editor. The file will be several times larger than the JPG.

Will quality improve?
No. Information lost in JPG does not come back; it simply stops degrading further.
Why is the file larger?
PNG is lossless, and lossless compression is inefficient for photographic images.
Is EXIF kept?
No. Capture and location data are removed.
Can I convert in bulk?
Yes, and save the results as a ZIP.

What is sent

What is never sent
The files themselves, file names, text, subtitles or prompts you add to a video, and IP addresses. The data goes only to this site's own server, never to a third-party service.
