Move the key of a song up or down in semitones. Match a backing track to your vocal range for singing or covers, match your instrument's tuning, or match a cover version's key. The length does not change, so the key can change while the audio stays in sync with video or other tracks.

How the key changes without the tempo
The audio is first stretched or compressed in time with WSOLA (cutting the waveform into short segments and overlapping them again), then played back at a different speed to restore the original length. The length stays the same and only the pitch changes. One semitone changes the frequency by about 6%, and 12 semitones double it.
“Fine tune” works in cents (1 semitone = 100 cents) and corrects small offsets such as the difference between A=440 Hz and 442 Hz (about 8 cents). The further you move the key, the less natural the sound becomes. To remove the vocals as well, the Karaoke track maker is more convenient.

How far can I shift? Does the tempo change?
Up to ±12 semitones (one octave up or down), plus up to ±50 cents of fine tuning. The length (tempo) does not change. To change the tempo as well, run the exported file through Change audio speed with “Keep pitch” on.
Does changing the key reduce the sound quality?
The further you move the key, the less natural it sounds (roughly ±5 semitones or more). To avoid adding compression loss when saving, choose a lossless format such as WAV or FLAC.
Can I change the key of a song on YouTube?
YouTube URLs can't be loaded. Drop an audio file from your device, or a video file such as MP4 or MOV. For videos, only the audio is exported.
Does it work on iPhone and other phones?
Yes. No app is needed; just open this page in your browser. Files are not uploaded and are processed on your device.
