After processing you see the original and compressed sizes and the reduction. Adjust and run again if needed.
How much smaller does it get?
A phone JPG of 3–5 MB typically becomes around 1 MB at quality 75, or around 600 KB as WebP. PNG is already lossless, so gains are smaller: OxiPNG optimisation saves 10–30%. To shrink a PNG photo substantially, convert it to WebP or JPG.
Combining this with "Max long side" has the biggest effect. Shrinking a 4000 px photo to 2000 px quarters the pixel count and roughly quarters the file. For web and email use, that setting alone is usually enough.
Frequently asked questions
What if the target size cannot be reached?
If even the lowest quality does not fit, that result is returned with a warning. Reduce the pixel count with "Max long side" or convert to WebP.
How much quality is lost?
At quality 70 or above you are unlikely to notice any difference on screen. For screenshots with text and thin lines, use a higher quality or keep them as optimised PNG.
Does repeated compression degrade the image?
Yes. JPG, WebP and AVIF are lossy, so compressing an already compressed image degrades it a little more each time. Keep the original and produce the sizes you need from it.
Can I compress transparent PNGs?
Yes. Keep the format as-is or choose PNG to optimise while preserving transparency. WebP also keeps transparency and is smaller still. JPG turns transparent areas white.

What is sent
The tool you used and the settings you chose (output format, quality, etc.), your device specs (GPU, memory, core count), the input format with a rough size, how many files succeeded or failed and how long it took, and the error type and details when something fails.
What is never sent
The files themselves, file names, text, subtitles or prompts you add to a video, and IP addresses. The data goes only to this site's own server, never to a third-party service.
