Add videos
Drop the videos you want the audio from. Several can be processed together.

Choose the audio format
MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC or AIFF. If the video's audio is AAC and you choose M4A, it is copied without re-encoding.

Run and save
A file containing only the audio track is produced. The video stream is skipped, so even long videos finish quickly.
Extracting without loss
MP4 and MOV audio is usually AAC, so choosing M4A copies the audio track without re-encoding — no loss, and even a long video finishes in seconds.
MP3 and WAV re-encode. WebM audio is Opus, so choosing OGG extracts it losslessly.

I want the audio without any quality loss
Choose M4A for MP4 / MOV, or OGG for WebM: the audio track is copied as-is.
Do long videos work?
Yes. The video stream is skipped and the audio is streamed, so multi-hour videos do not exhaust memory.
Can I process several videos at once?
Yes. Add them all and run; they are processed in turn and can be saved as a ZIP.
Which format for transcription?
MP3 at 128 kbps, or WAV at 16 kHz mono, is the usual choice. For WAV, set the sample rate and channels in the Audio Converter. The extracted audio can be loaded straight into Transcriber, the same author's in-browser transcription tool.

If a conversion fails, sending us the circumstances helps us track down the cause. Knowing which devices and formats fail most often, and how long processing takes, lets us revise the supported formats and fix the bugs behind them. If you don't mind, leaving this on is a real help.
What is sent
The tool you used and the settings you chose (output format, quality, etc.), your device specs (GPU, memory, core count), the input format with a rough size, how many files succeeded or failed and how long it took, and the error type and details when something fails.
What is never sent
The files themselves, file names, text, subtitles or prompts you add to a video, and IP addresses. The data goes only to this site's own server, never to a third-party service.
