When to choose PNG
PNG is lossless, so conversion loses no quality. In exchange the file is 5–10 times larger than the HEIC. PNG suits material you will edit further and screenshots containing text.
If you are sharing or submitting photos and care about size, choose JPG or WebP instead. Turning a photo into PNG only makes it larger without any visible benefit.
Frequently asked questions
Is transparency kept?
Yes. An alpha channel in the HEIC is written to the PNG as-is.
Why is the file so much larger?
PNG is lossless, and lossless compression does little for photos with many colours. Choose JPG or WebP for smaller files.
Can I convert iPhone screenshots?
iPhone screenshots are already saved as PNG, so no conversion is needed. HEIC files exported from the Photos app can be converted.
How many files at once?
No limit. They are processed in turn and can be saved as they finish.

What is sent
The tool you used and the settings you chose (output format, quality, etc.), your device specs (GPU, memory, core count), the input format with a rough size, how many files succeeded or failed and how long it took, and the error type and details when something fails.
What is never sent
The files themselves, file names, text, subtitles or prompts you add to a video, and IP addresses. The data goes only to this site's own server, never to a third-party service.
